Downtown Skyway Activation Series
A three-part public art initiative designed to connect downtown businesses, the public, and artists through creative experiences throughout Saint Paul’s skyway system.
This collaborative project will transform underutilized spaces into destinations for discovery, engagement, and community connection through three interconnected programs:
The Skyway Poetry Walk
A walkable literary experience featuring poems installed throughout the skyway system. Visitors will be invited to slow down, reflect, and experience downtown through the power of words. The Poetry Walk will showcase local and regional poets while creating an engaging journey that encourages exploration of downtown Saint Paul.
The Artist Spotlight Series
A video-based exhibition highlighting local artists, their work, and their creative process. Presented on digital screens throughout the skyway system, these short features will introduce thousands of downtown workers, residents, and visitors to the artists who help shape our creative community.
The Community Art Installation
The third phase of the project will transform a currently vacant or underutilized downtown space into a physical public art installation. The location is still being finalized, but the goal remains the same: activating overlooked spaces while creating opportunities for artists and creating engaging experiences for the public.
Together, these three projects create a unique cultural experience that celebrates creativity while encouraging people to explore, engage with local businesses, and connect with downtown Saint Paul.
